Learn about the City of gold and its suburbs.

Johannesburg, South Africa’s largest city remains the country’s financial and commercial heart. View the “Rainbow Nation” at work in Sandton and Downtown Johannesburg. The Northern suburbs can be viewed from a high vantage point after which we drive through Hillbrow, the most densely populated part of the city, cross over Nelson Mandela Bridge and into downtown Johannesburg. A stop is made at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown where a variety of African arts and crafts are sold.

The Apartheid museum investigates the causes of the Apartheid system and the build up to its implementation in South Africa. The effects and ultimate demise of apartheid and current South African history is where the visit ends off and leaving the museum conveys a feeling of being freed from prison as you exit the grey pillars into the sunlight.
